Description

Hey!! so this was a submission that I did for the Gallery in LA called Gallery Nucleus LINK! I had to wait till today to post it bc I didn't want other people to "see my idea/entry" I guess you could say..

Anywhoo I absolutely challenged myself to create a more painterly version of my style/ more refined in general, I mentioned in my latest journal that i'm going to be posting more "finished artworks" on my dA instead of just always uploading sketches an stuff, so I mean- this would definitely be an example of that.. When I thought of an idea to draw Hatsune Miku, my immediate instinct was "okay I NEED to draw her vibrant and beautiful and full of young life!!" and so that was kinda the background information I kept supplying myself while painting this--also I listened to a bunch of electric k-pop along with Vocaloid while painting this Nod bc... OBVIOUSLY I SHOULD!!!

This would be a print that I would sell at Anime North 2015 ( IF I WON THE COVER CONTEST ) !!! Sweating a little... I am a dummy!

Looking at this, and looking at any given Camilla picture, it's fantastic to see just how bold your coloring is, whether the overall tone is cool or warm. In fact, given all the Camilla stuff I've seen, Miku seems like she'd be right up your alley! I love the sense of motion in the tie, and I love how your hard lines just seem to melt away as you apply more painterly techniques!
